Volleyball Sweeps Stanhope Elmore on Senior Night
WETUMPKA, Ala. - The Wetumpka volleyball team has now won five consecutive matches after defeating rival Stanhope Elmore in straight sets on Tuesday.
During the presentation of Senior Night, the Indians got off to a quick start in the match, winning the first set by a slim margin, 25-23.
The Indians began to dominate as the match went on, winning the second set 25-6 and the third and final set 25-14.
The win against an area opponent sees the Indians move into second place in 6A Region 4 with an area record of 2-1 and an overall record of 6-6.
Although Senior Night has happened, Volleyball still has over a month left in the season.
The Indians will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Elmore County Tournament.
