Wetumpka Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to Montgomery Academy
WETUMPKA, Ala. - The Wetumpka Indians dropped its home match against Montgomery Academy on Thursday night in a 3-0 final.
The Indians were beaten handedly in the first set, 25-13. Wetumpka's valiant effort in set two kept things tight, but the Eagles pulled away late to take a 25-17 set win.
In a must-win final set, Wetumpka played its closest of the night. After going down early, Wetumpka had cut it back to just one point at 21-20. Montgomery Academy had a late rally to earn the final four points to win the set 25-20 and secure a sweep.
After playing six matches in as many days, the Indians get a much needed rest. Wetumpka will get back to work on Thursday, Sept. 4 when it takes on Prattville Christian Academy on the road. That match will begin at 5:30 pm.
