Track & Field's Alora Logan Named FCB Athlete of the Week for April 20

WETUMPKA, Ala. - Wetumpka track and field's Alora Logan earned two school records over the weekend to deserve this weeks First Community Bank Athlete of the Week honors.
Logan, a sophomore, broke the school record for the girl's 800m with a time of 2:28.94 at Charles Henderson's Troy Invitational. Logan won the event by an eight second margin. Her teammate Jessilyn Oliver placed fourth in the field of 13 runners.
Logan also competed as part of the 4x800m relay. Along with teammates Jessilyn Oliver, Carson Coker and Palyn Ellis, the ladies ran a 10:54. That time easily won the event over Saint James and Reeltown, and broke the program's previous record.
Logan is now one of 21 girls and 17 boys to be entered into the AHSAA 6A Sectionals meet in Saraland. The Indians will look to punch tickets to the 6A State Championship in Gulf Shores this Friday and Saturday.
