Softball Sweeps Wetumpka Tournament
WETUMPKA, Ala. - Wetumpka softball completed a clean 5-0 sweep of the Wetumpka Tournament last weekend.
The Indians earned wins over Southside, Moody, Curry, Handley and Ariton. Following a 3-1 win over Southside and 5-4 against Moody, The team took down Curry, 5-4, marking a win over the 41st ranked team in the nation according to MaxPreps.
Against the Yellow Jackets, shortstop Bailey Carlisle managed two hits and two RBIs while Autymn Hollon blasted a two-run homer to center field to secure the victory.
Wetumpka finished out the tournament with two run-rule wins over Handley, 12-1, and Ariton, 10-0.
The Indians now hold an eight-game winning streak as the team enters a six-game road trip beginning with county-foe Holtville on Tuesday. The Indians will also travel take on Opelika this week on Thursday night.
The Indians' next home game is scheduled for Monday, March 16 against Prattville. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person or HERE.
