Bailey Carlisle Represents Wetumpka in AHSAA All-Star Softball Games
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Wetumpka senior shortstop Bailey Carlisle played in the 2025 AHSAA North/South All-Star softball games at Lagoon Park on Wednesday.
Carlisle earned her selection to the game after being nominated by head coach Daryl Otwell. In her junior season, Carlisle recorded a batting average of .493, tallying 73 hits that included a team-high eight home runs and another 12 doubles.
"Honestly, it means a lot," Carlisle said. "It's a very big accomplishment for me. Out of a lot of people to get chosen to be in this position, I got picked. It just means a lot, and I'm glad to be here."
The games were set as a two-game doubleheader between the North All-Stars and South All-Stars. Carslisle started game one at centerfield for the South All-Stars. The South won game one 2-0 while throwing a combined no-hitter, the first recorded no-hitter in the North-South Classic's history since 1997. Carlisle's four innings at shortstop saw the senior make a few defensive plays to help secure the no-hitter.
In the second game, Carlisle again made the start for the South All-Stars at shortstop. She took advantage of a hit-by-pitch and flashed her speed by recording two stolen bases and tallying a run in the South's 4-2 win in Game 2.
Now, Bailey Carlisle begins to prepare for the 2026 Wetumpka softball season.
"We have a really good bunch of girls this year," Carlisle said. "I feel like we have a good run at state."
The 2026 Wetumpka Softball Season is slated to begin in February.
