Track & Field Sends 23 Athletes to Gulf Shores for State Championship Meet
WETUMPKA, Ala. -- After an impressive display at Sectionals, Wetumpka Track & Field will send 23 qualifying athletes to this weekend's AHSAA 6A State Chamionship Meet. The girls finished second as a team at sectionals, sending 17 athletes to the state meet. The Boys finished 6th overall, and will send 6 individual qualifiers to gulf shores.

Lilly Wellborn- High Jump, Triple Jump (2nd place)
Jaida Denmark- Shotput (1st place)
Yada Lattimore- Shotput (5th place)
Khalia Young- Shotput (4th place)
Taniya Anthony- 100m, 4x1 relay
Elaine Mayes- 100m, 4x1 relay, 4x4 relay, 200m
Hayli Crockett- 4x1 relay
Zacari Gipson- 100m, 4x1 relay, 4x4 relay

The AHSAA Track & Field State Championship Meet will be held from April 30-May 2, 2026, in Gulf Shores, Ala. at the Gulf Shores Municipal Track.
