Men's Basketball Bounces Back in Home Opener
WETUMPKA, Ala. - After losing a 66-70 nailbiter against Pike Road on Thursday, the Indians bounced back with an impressive 66-40 win against the Prattville Christian Academy Panthers on Friday.
Senior guard Andrew Voyles led the team in scoring during both contests, dropping 25 against Pike Road and another 22 against the Panthers.
The other part of the senior back court tandem, Chris Robinson recorded a double-double against Pike Road, scoring 13 points and tallying eleven assists. Robinson added eight rebounds, two off of a triple-double.
Senior John Hudson Wingard highlighted his prowess on the low post, scoring eight and grabbing eight rebounds and adding another two blocks.
The Indians team chemistry showed early in the PCA matchup, with the team tallying 19 assists and 18 steals. Robinson and Voyles each had six and five of those assists, respectively.
Newcomer LT Davis' athleticisim was a huge factor, with Davis stealing the ball six times and blocking two shots.
Another new face for the Indians in Kaleb Ballard made an impact in the win over PCA, scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 boards, earning him his first double-double of the season. Ballard also blocked four shots and forced two steals.
The Indians will be back on the hardwoon three times this week: Tuesday vs. Prattville, Thursday at Elmore County, and Friday at Brewbaker Tech.
