LF Autymn Hollon Named FCB Athlete of the Week for April 6

WETUMPKA, Ala. -- Softball's Autymn Hollon has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for April 6.
The left fielder's selection comes off a week that softball go 3-0, including wins over rival Stanhope Elmore and #2 ranked nationally Thompson.
The junior's week got off to a hot start as the Indians hosted Pike Road, defeating the Patriots 12-2 in five innings.
Hollon went 3/4 at the plate, with all three hits being doubles. She drove in four runs and led the team in total bases with 6.
In Thursday's matchup against the Mustangs, Hollon continued her success at the plate, going 1/3. She tallied 4 RBI's and scored two runs in addition to drawing a walk in the Indians 11-1 run-rule victory.
Friday, April 3, saw Wetumpka host the Thompson Warriors, a battle between two top-10 teams in the state. Hollon continued to have a significant impact for the Black & Gold, giving the Indians a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single that plated Bailey Carlisle. She drew a walk and tallied another hit, finishing with a final box score of 2/3 with two hits, a walk, and RBI in the Indians 3-2 walk-off win over the Warriors in extra innings.
Softball is back in action April 6, hosting the Holtville Bulldogs before playing their third area game of the season against Percy Julian on Thursday, April 9.
