FCB Athlete of the Week: 9/4 | Javian Green

WETUMPKA, Ala.- Senior defensive lineman Javian Green has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 4.
Green had a standout defensive performance in the Indians loss to the Chelsea Hornets last week.
Green tallied 11 total tackles that included five solo tackles, two tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery.
During the Indians 36-19 win against Beauregard to open the season, Green notched another five tackles and a sack, bringing his totals for the season to 16 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, a sack and fumble recovery.
During Tribal Talk featuring the Bear Woods Show, head coach Bear Woods talked about Green's experience as a key factor in his success thus far this season.
"He has three years of experience now playing," said Woods. "He's a juice guy, brings energy for us and he plays hard."
Coach woods said that the defensive line has stood out so far this season as a whole.
Green and the Indians will hit the road and take on the Russel County Warriors on Sept. 5.
